Jethava murder: Main accused arrested

The Mumbai police arrested the main accused for the murder of RTI activist Amit Jethava,who was shot dead outside the Gujarat High Court.

The Mumbai police on Tuesday arrested the main accused for the murder of RTI activist Amit Jethava,who was shot dead outside the Gujarat High Court in Ahmedabad on July 20 this year.

Shailesh Nanalal Pandya (36) had been on the run since the killing and is said to be one of the two hitmen who shot Jethava for which they were paid a supari of Rs 11 lakh.

“Pandya was arrested from Kurla and was found in possession of a pistol and a revolver. He has currently been booked under the Arms Act. He is also one of the shooters in the Amit Jethava murder case and was paid a supari by police constable Wadher,” said Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Deven Bharti.
