Domestic private air-carrier IndiGo said it has taken a slew of measures to minimise flight disruptions and cancellations due to fog in winter season.
The airline has 204 CAT 111B authorised pilots (93 captains and 111 co-pilots),which accounts for nearly 80 per cent of the total cockpit crew,to undertake its flights operations,a release said here.
CAT IIIB authorisation allows a pilot to take off and land at all airports equipped with CAT IIIB facilities at 75 meters visibility for landing and at 125 meters visibility for take off.
Besides,a new Airbus A-320,inducted into the fleet on December 24,has been kept on ground as a spare aircraft till January 20 next year to handle disruption caused by fog if needed,it said.
The airline is also working closely with the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) to receive fog forecast up to 48 hours in advance, the airline said.
