The good quarter numbers are understood to be a result of the company’s cost-cutting efforts and Japanese government’s incentives for energy efficient cars, which offset the negative impact of a strong yen.

During the quarter,Honda has registered a double-digit growth in all the regions except Europe.

In terms of geographical locations, the Asian region, which includes Thailand,Indonesia,China,India,Vietnam, has emerged as the star performer with revenue rising by 22.2 per cent to 452.9 billion yen (USD 5.4 billion).

The robust performance was mainly due to increased revenue in automobile and motorcycle businesses, despite the unfavorable currency translation effects.
