‘I hope Mithun likes it’

The track he said is a tribute to the disco era,when Mithun Chakraborthy,Govinda,Rishi Kapoor,Anil Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan reigned supreme as the dancing stars. “All these actors were amazing dancers and have entertained me when I was young. I was only too happy to recreate their hit numbers. I hope Mithun likes it,” confessed the actor,who also wants Salman Khan’s approval who he says is a friend and far ahead of him when it comes to doing special numbers.

The actor has gone all out to fit into all the actors’ shoes,replete with long hair,snazzy glares,sideburns,jackets,bell-bottoms and printed shirts and the pelvic thrusts that one felt would be alien to the actor. But Khan said he never had any qualms about them. “I was quite comfortable with the moves from day one and only needed two days of rehearsals. In fact I had a ball while shooting and I don’t mind doing more numbers like these. Actually all the songs of Delhi Belly are good,the reason we are promoting them so aggressively,” he said,waving off questions about the controversial DK Bose number by saying that the target audience was the youth and the film had been made keeping their young spirits in mind.

“The film is a trendsetter and if it is successful will be path-breaking,” he trailed off.
