Honda Cars India today launched the automatic transmission version of its small car Brio,priced between Rs 5.74 lakh and Rs 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom,Delhi). The company also introduced a new variant of the manual transmission version,priced at Rs 4.26 lakh. "Automatic transmissions are gaining popularity in hatchback segment due to our stop-go traffic. Our dealer and customer voice indicated that there is a good potential for automatic in the Brio segment," Honda Cars India Senior Vice President (Sales and Marketing) Jnaneswar Sen said in a statement. The company said Brio is the first car in its segment to be equipped with a 5-speed automatic transmission. The Brio automatic transmission version comes with a 4 cylinder 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine. The company claims that the car gives a mileage of 16.5 km per litre. The new variant of the manual transmission will come with many features,including new audio system and body coloured outside door handles.
