The slain gunman in the deadliest attack against the Sikh community in the US is said to be an army veteran who sported several tattoos,including a 9/11 graphic on his arm. Fox News quoted sources as identifying the dead suspect as Wade Michael Page,who was at one time attached to the Fort Bragg Army installation in North Carolina. The FBI said in a statement it was investigating the angle of domestic terrorism,but no motive has been determined (yet). Thomas Ahern,spokesman for the Chicago division of the Bureau of Alcohol,Tobacco,Firearms and Explosives,described the man as a white male roughly 40 years of age. Indias ambassador to the US Nirupama Rao said Deputy National Security Advisor John Brennan had spoken to her to convey the sincerest condolences of President Barack Obama. Mr Brennan assured me these tragic killings would be fully investigated,that Sikh community is precious part of fabric of American nation, Rao tweeted. In a statement,Obama said,Michelle and I were deeply saddened to learn of the shooting that tragically took so many lives. PTI
