Govt to recruit 500 engieers to Zilla Panchayats

Karnataka Government would recruit 500 engineers to Zilla Panchayats,Rural Development and Panchayat Raj miniser Jagadish Shettar said today.

Talking to reporters here,he said the engineers would be directly recruited and the process has already begun.

The government has decided to revamp Zilla Panchayats and Gram Panchayats to bring in more accountability on the part of the elected represantatives and officials.

When queried on the differences of opinion between him and former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on cerain matters,Shettar said such things were common and much should not be read into them.

“We are a democratic party and everyone has the right to have his say and what they feel like and this should not be construed as criticisms, Shettar said.
