Rajasthan Governor S K Singh seems to have developed a penchant for causing controversies, notwithstanding the change of regime in the state. Last week,he sought to attribute Mahatma Gandhis killing to terror and linked Nathuram Godse with the RSS. This created a huge political uproar in the state, with the Opposition BJP criticising his remarks that went against the decorum of his constitutional office. Last year, there was another controversy after he had suggested the role of some ideology behind the state Governments crackdown on illegal Bangladeshis in the wake of terror blasts in Jaipur. In the latest instance, top BJP leaders at the Centre have chosen to look away, leaving it to party MLAs in the state to sort out the matter.
