Abhishek Verma and his wife, implicated by the CBI for forgery and corruption on the complaint of Union Sports Minister Ajay Maken, were on Thursday sent to judicial custody for seven days. Arguing against the CBI application for judicial custody,Verma told the court that he has been falsely implicated by CBI in a politically motivated case at the behest of Congress leader Jagdish Tytler against whom he had deposed in a corruption case. The agency had received the complaint from Maken on July 25 alleging misuse of his name and letterhead as MoS (Home). The court of Special CBI Judge Sanjeev Jain then allowed the CBI to arrest Verma and his wife, minutes after they got bail in another corruption case.
