The police officials investigating the Geetika Sharma suicide case have asked her family to cooperate with them regarding documents of certain properties which were previously in her name. The police said that it has emerged that former Haryana minister Gopal Goyal Kanda had bought a flat and another property in South City,Gurgaon,in Geetika’s name.

“One of the flats in South City was bought in March 2012 but he had wanted to sell them. Earlier too,he had bought properties in the names of some of his employees and then sold it after a while. It appears that he was threatening Geetika to transfer the flat in his name. We have requested her family to help us with their knowledge of properties linked to Geetika,” said a police official.

Meanwhile, the three mobile phones which Kanda had refused to hand over to the police have been recovered. The police have information that the phones contained videographs/ photographs and templates which could serve as incriminating evidence against Kanda in the case.
