Copper declines on reduced industrial offtake

In restricted trading,copper remained weak and prices fell by Rs 2 per kg.

In restricted trading,copper remained weak and prices fell by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous metal market today due to reduced industrial offtake on the back of a weak global trend.

Traders attributed the decline in copper prices to subdued trend overseas and reduced industrial offtake.

In the national capital,copper wire scrap,copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap remained weak and lost Rs 2 each to Rs 511,Rs 534 and Rs 496 per kg,respectively.

Other base metals such as nickel and zinc,however,held steady in thin trade.

Tin ingot 836,zinc ingot 134.50,nickel plate (4×4) 1,070-1,072,gun metal scrap 226 bell metal scrap 228,copper wire scrap Rs 511,copper wire bar 534,copper mixed scrap 496,utensil scrap 224,chadripital 175.

Lead ingot 142,lead imported 147,aluminium ingots 112,sheet cutting 113,aluminium wire scrap 112 and aluminium utensils scrap 109.
