Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Wednesday visited the family of the slain pradhan of Balipur village,Nanhe Lal Yadav,in Pratapgarh district and assured the family all possible support from the government.
Nanhe, his younger brother Suresh Yadav and Kunda Circle Officer Zia-ul-Haque were killed in a chain of events triggered by Nanhes murder outside the village on March 2 evening.
Apart from giving financial help by way of two cheques of Rs 20 lakh each to the widows of Nanhe and Suresh, the CM also told Nanhes father Dukhi Ram Yadav that if his family members were indeed innocent,he would take up the matter with senior police officials to ensure that no action was taken against them.
In the FIR registered on the complaint of the now suspended Station Officer Hathigawa Manoj Shukla, four persons from Nanhes family were named in connection with the COs murder. Dukhi Ram has claimed that for a family, which lost two of its members in close succession,it was far-fetched to think that they would attack a police officer.
The CM arrived in Balipur around 10.30 am and met the family of Dukhi Ram for about half-an-hour.
Talking to the media after the meeting, the CM said,I had a talk with the family and have all their demands. The government would ensure that the young children of the family continue with their education. I have told the family that if their members were innocent, the matter would be taken up with senior officials.
Regarding the investigation, the CM said,Whether it is about locating the bullets or the weapon or the circumstances, everything will become clear in the CBI investigation. Anybody involved in the conspiracy wouldnt be spared.
