The police in Kodaikanal have formed three special teams to nab the 73-year-old correspondent of a school who has been accused of molesting a Class IX student.

The student of Kodaikanal Public School, hailing from Bhutan, was allegedly molested by M L Brite, the correspondent of the school, when she was alone in the hostel earlier this month.

According to police sources in the hill town, the teams have traced him to Kerala using his mobile signal but are yet to effect an arrest. Police have impounded the passport of the school official to prevent his escape to foreign countries.

However, the school has alleged that the student and her local guardian lodged a false complaint against the school official following an argument over fees. In his anticipatory bail petition filed at the Madras High Court,Brite also said the complaint was false, filed after a disagreement over payment of hostel fees.

As the girl failed to pay the monthly fee of Rs 500 for three consecutive months, she was moved to the free hostel facility, which gave rise to the dispute and false complaint, claimed the official.

The court has asked the police to submit the case diary for its review when the bail plea is considered again.
