WASHINGTON: President Barack Obama on Wednesday eased sanctions against Myanmar to allow US firms to invest there. But Obama said Washington remained concerned about the military’s role in Myanmar’s economy. His announcement came as the first US ambassador to the nation in 22 years arrived in Yangon on Wednesday.

British police arrest two journalists

LONDON: Police investigating corrupt links between police and reporters said they arrested two journalists for questioning Wednesday. Scotland Yard said the men,who are 37 and 34 years old,were detained at their homes in an early-morning raid. Bugti case: Arrest warrant for Musharraf

Islamabad: A Pakistani court on Wednesday issued arrest warrants for former military ruler Pervez Musharraf and several others accused of involvement in the killing of Baluch nationalist leader Nawab Akbar Bugti in 2006. The warrants were issued by Judge Muhammad Nawaz Khan of the anti-terrorism court at Sibi in Baluchistan province.
