Taliban men who shot down US copter killed
WASHINGTON: International forces killed the Taliban insurgents responsible for shooting down a US helicopter and killing 38 US and Afghan forces over the weekend,the top US commander in Afghanistan said. Marine Corps Gen. John Allen said an F-16 airstrike Monday took out fewer than 10 insurgents involved in the attack on the Chinook helicopter. In a separate statement,the military said the strike killed Taliban leader Mullah Mohibullah and the insurgent who fired the rocket-propelled grenade at the helicopter.
NRI in S Africa murder can be extradited: UK
LONDON: Shrien Dewani,the Indian-origin Briton who allegedly masterminded the murder of his wife on their honeymoon in South Africa last year,can be extradited to stand trial there,a judge ruled Wednesday. Dewani,31 married Anni Dewani,28,in India. His extradition has to be ratified by the Home Secretary Theresa May.
Pak intel official tipped US about Osama
LONDON: A Pakistani intelligence officer,who wished to secure US citizenship for his family,gave details of Osama bin-Ladens whereabouts to the US,in a deal worth 25 million. The Pakistani officer also informed the US officials that Saudis were paying off Pakistan and ISI to keep Osama hidden in the Abbotabad compound,Daily Mail reported.

BENGHAZI: Libyan state television Wednesday broadcast images of a man it said was Muammar Gaddafis youngest son footage that undercut rebel claims of his death. The rebels claimed Friday that Khamis Gaddafi was killed in a NATO airstrike.

Ahmadinejad urges UN to react
TEHRAN: Irans President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad urged the UN Security Council to take action over the rioting in Britain,arguing it was hypocritical in its reaction to such events. Ahmadinejad,also called on British officials to listen to the demands of people. If one per cent of this happens in countries that oppose the West,they scream until they are hoarse, he said.
