Myanmars military handed power to a nominally civilian government after almost half a century of army rule on Wednesday,as the junta was disbanded and a new President appointed. The handover came after controversial elections last November.

Ed Miliband to marry partner in May
LONDON:
Labour leader Ed Miliband said Wednesday he is to marry his partner Justine Thornton at a ceremony on May 27. Miliband had been criticised in the right-wing press for being first leader of a party to live with his family out of wedlock.
