Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday made a minor reshuffle of the Union Cabinet with Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal being given the additional charge of Water Resources Ministry - vacant after Meira Kumar was elected the Lok Sabha Speaker. Portfolios of Ministers of State Pratik Prakashbapu Patil and Arun Yadav were also exchanged. Patil was appointed as Minister of State for Youth Affairs while incumbent Yadav was given Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Ministry. The Water Resources Ministry held by Meira Kumar till she resigned from the Union Council of Ministers was expected to go to senior Congress leader from Orissa,Srikant Jena,who was unhappy after being appointed as a minister of state. Jena had assumed charge as MoS Chemcials and Fertilisers only recently pointing out that his grievances would be redressed. Meanwhile,the schedule of the Budget session of the Parliament is likely to be decided in a meeting of the Union Cabinet on Monday. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pawan Kumar Bansal had said that the session was expected to begin by June end or early July. Indications so far have it that the Union Budget would be presented on July 3,Economic Survey on July 2 while Railway Budget on July 1.
