In A U-turn,Anna Hazare denied approving Pranab Mukherjees candidature for the post of President.
In an interview to a Marathi news channel telecast on Monday,Hazare had said,Pranab Mukherjee is better when compared to other ministers in the government. Mukherjee is an efficient minister. He has played an important role in several key decisions. He has been fielded by the UPA. Had it been any other minister,I would not have approved.
This was in contrast to the stand taken by Team Anna who had opposed Mukherjees candidature saying that he should first undergo an independent and credible probe before he is considered for the post.
But on Tuesday,Hazare clarified that he was not aware of some evidence against Pranab Mukherjee when he made the statement.
Speaking to reporters at Ralegan Siddhi,Hazare said,Mukherjee is all right theek hai than other ministers in the UPA government. Par unke bhi kuchh sabut mere pass kal aaye hai. Aur gadbad ho gaya8230;But yesterday I received some evidence against him. This caused the confusion, he said.
