The US Charge dAffaires in India Peter Burleigh may have stirred a bit of a storm in the political tea cup with his meetings with the BSP,TDP and the BJPs prime ministerial candidate L K Advani in the run-up to the counting day,but these may prove needless reactions from the Left because Burleigh is only an Interim Ambassador. Already,there is greater credence being given to the buzz in Washington that former democrat Congressman Tim Roemer will be the new Ambassador to India. This would mean that the well-meaning,Hindi-speaking Burleigh would have to return to the US.
