BOMBAY Dyeing and Manufacturing Company Ltd deputy MD Ness Wadia has spelt out a consolidation and growth strategy for the group.

‘‘Textiles will be the main driver for the group, while we also plan to develop our real estate business in a major way within the next three years. The thrust will be on brand-building and leveraging the brand in the best interest of the textile business,’’ said Wadia, the elder son of group chairman Nusli Wadia, at the launch of Bombay Dyeing’s new range of home linen collection in bed and bath category.

‘‘We are on the path of consolidation and growth. Textiles will remain a dominant activity for Bombay Dyeing and we are in the process of restructuring this entire business, including the manufacturing facilities,’’ he said. Wadia said, ‘‘We have retained our leadership position in the bedsheet and towel category, and we now plan to shift focus to the readymade garments business, which includes brands like Vivaldi and Proline. There is a clear vision as to where the brand needs to be in establishing a dominant role in the market place,’’he also said.

However, he declined to divulge the group’s plan for foray into new ventures.
