BANGALORE, May 25: Former Member of Parliament K Venkatagiri Gowda, whose books on former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda’s alleged corrupt practices invited a court injunction against their distribution, has come out with yet another volume listing the “illegally acquired” assets of the former Prime Minister.

The book titled The deeper you dig, the larger you haul (The Black Assets Of A Man In White) is dedicated to 18th Century French philosophers Thomas Paine, Jacques Rousseau and Voltaire.

The retired Economics professor says he was encouraged and even exhilarated by the “warm response” to his earlier books H D Deve Gowda: King of Corruption and From Order to Anarchy. Readers forwarded to him authentic documents, which were not covered in the previous books, according to Venkatagiri , who alleges that Deve Gowda received kickbacks from China Power and Light, which is setting up the 1000 MW Cogentrix power project near Mangalore.
