Cylinder blast
A woman was killed while her husband and daughter were injured in a gas explosion on Tuesday. Police said the mishap occurred in Rajkumar Rao8217;s house at Gagrawada in Panigate. Investigations revealed that the family members forgot to switch off the gas cylinder knob before retiring to bed on Monday night. Gas spread through the entire house and in the morning when Rajkumar lighted a match to smoke, a huge blast ensued. The neighbours rushed Rajkumar, his wife Shiela and his daughter Sania who were severely burnt to the SSG hospital where Shiela succumbed to her injuries.

New phone nos
The Department of Telecom has changed several telephone numbers in the city following modernisation brought in some telephone exchanges. The new telephone numbers have new facilities like the morning wake-up call, call waiting facilities etc. all free of charge.

3 Five detained
Five people were picked up by the Gujarat Railway Police Force GRPF on suspicion during night-patrolling on Monday, and jewellery and a camera were recovered. They have been remanded to custody till Thursday.

Adalat held
A Bank of India adalat was held at Wankaner village in Savli taluka recently to achieve NPA reduction. The Bank offered out-of-court settlements to over 110 defaulting borrower and intends to organise a similar adalat at Vadodara, Anand, Kheda and in Panchmhal district.
