
Laparoscopic surgery camp
A free laparoscopic surgery camp will be organised by the Rotary Club of Jawaharnagar from November 3. The camp is being led by Head of the Surgery department, SSG Hospital, G N Shukla and prominent surgeons from America. The camp is being organised to help the poor and needy who cannot afford the expensive surgery. Patients will be treated on a first come-first served basis. Those interested should approach one of the following doctors with his/her medical reports between 9 am to 12 noon before November 1 and get their names registered: G N Shukla, OPD number 4, SSG Hospital, Dr Nayan Swadla, Swadla Surgical hospital, Dr Manolkar, Surgeon Railway Staff College, Dr Ashwin Bhammar, 16, Sampatrao Colony, Alkapuri, Dr Deep Patel, Ami Surgical Hospital, 51 Sampatrao Colony, Alkapuri.
Talk on polio
Dr Sanjeev Goel of Jamnabai Hospital will deliver a radio talk on Pulse Polio Immunisation on Friday. The talk will be broadcast by Ahmedabad and Vadodara stations of All India Radio in Yuv Vani Programme between 5.30 pm-6 pm. It can be heard at 345-6 meter Hz or 846 Kilohertz.
Rescheduled
The meetings of District Tribal Development Project and the District Coordination Committee, which were scheduled to be held at the Collectorate on Friday, have been postponed indefinitely, an official release said. Announcing that dates for the same would be declared later, the release said the postponement was due to unavoidable circumstances.
Alang trouble
Former member of Parliament Sanat Mehta has urged the Prime Minister and the Union Finance Minister to intervene and resolve the stalemate created by Central Excise Department at the ship breaking industry at Alang near Bhavnagar district in Gujarat. Alleging that the bureaucracy had brought the industry to a halt, thus resulting in unemployment of thousands of workers, Mehta said that Alang 8212; the largest yard in the world 8212; required protection at a time when China was trying to compete.
