Anti-Oasis dharna today
Members of the Jagrit Nagrik Samiti, along with the sarpanch and villagers of Sherkhi, will stage a dharna in front of the collectorate on Wednesday to urge vacating of the land donated to Oasis, a youth organisation. Expressing disatisfaction over the 8220;slow-pace8221; of action, the Samiti members, demanded that the administration return the land to the villagers immediately.

Delegation
Federation of Gujarat Industries president Amit Goradia will lead a delegation of 17 chief executive officers and managing directors of city-based companies to meet Revenue Minister Vajubhai Vala in Gandhinagar on Wednesday. The meeting comes after a series of complaints from the FGI that industries were being 8220;harassed8221; by the Sales Tax department.

Farmers8217; stir
Farmers of several villages in Bharuch district began a five-day-long satyagrah on Monday in protest against an alleged case of cheating in Chaswad branch of Bank of Baroda. Chittaranjan P Gurja of Netrang alleged that a bank employee embezzled Rs 90 lakh from the accounts of an estimated 190 farmers, due to which they could not procure loans. According to Gurja, farmers have threatened to launch an indefinite hunger fast if the problem was not sorted out immediately.
