
Desai visits rehabilitation sites for PAPs
The chairman of the Grievance Redressal Authority for the Sardar Sarovar Project Affected Persons PAPs Justice P D Desai, will visit certain Rehabilitation and Resettlement Ramp;R sites for two days beginning Saturday to take an on-the-spot survey on the status of Ramp;R at the sites. According to deputy commissioner of Grievances Redressal Authority, SSP Vadodara, A J Shah, the chairman would be accompanied by senior officers of the Authority.
Irregularities
A joint report prepared by a five-member team comprising three members of the Telecom Advisory Committee TAC and two officials of the city Department of Telecom DoT has pointed at irregularities in the laying of underground cables in Padra area. The report, submitted to the office of the DoT General Manager here on Thursday, stated that protection bricks laid to demarcate the stipulated depth were missing in various places. General Manager Rakesh Babu when contacted said he had not perused the TAC-DoT findings as yet.
Radiance contest
Radiance, an inter-faculty personality quest, will be organised by the Rotaract Club of Jawharnagar West here on Friday. The quest is exclusively for MSU students. The programme is the first of its kind to be held in the MSU under the guidance of a senior Rotarian Hemant Antani of Anand. Entry is free for all students on a first come first serve basis.
NIIT annual day
Antakshari, fashion show and dance marked the NIIT annual day on Wednesday at the C C Mehta Auditorium here. The programme began with Antakshari. The main attraction, however, was the fashion show. The traditional round was followed by casual round. In the third and the final round girls and boys wore dresses which were austere and sensuously sleek. NIIT is shortly starting its fourth centre in the city in Manjalpur.
