Appeal to use new postal facility
The Department of Posts has urged the public to make full use of the Green Channel facility launched recently, under which local letters posted in green letter-boxes 8212; they have come up in a number of places in the city 8212; are sorted out on priority for next-day delivery. Additional Director, Postal Services, U U Patel said not many people were aware of the new arrangement.
School fun fair
The Basil School, Mukti Nagar, Tandalja Road, has organised a fun fair on Friday on the school grounds from 4 to 8 pm. Additional Commissioner of Police M K Tandon will be the chief guest.
Company raided
Four premises of a leading State-based chemical company were raided on Tuesday by the Anti-Evasion branch of the Central Excise department. Documents were seized from the company8217;s two units in Ahmedabad, one at Savli and another outside the State.
RSP felicitation
The Road Safety Patrol recently held felicitated school students providing honorary services at the Railway Police Parade Ground. Certificates as well as medals for Best Cadet, Best March Past, Best Leader were given away. ACP Traffic Police R R Munshi, Yogesh Akolkar of the Way to Unity Trust and former RSP Commandant Abdullah Sheikh were present on the occasion.
Lectures
M V George of the Regional Research Laboratory, Thiruvanthapuram, will deliver the Professor S M Sethna Memorial Lectures on Thursday and Friday at the Department of Chemistry, MSU. The lectures will be presided over by MSU Vice-Chancellor Anil Kane.
