Police said as per her complaint Mathew promised to drop her at her flat. However, next morning two youths found her lying on a pavement with bruise marks on her body.

They took her to her husband, police said.

The woman reported the incident to the US Consulate here, which in turn forwarded a formal complaint to the police.

She had complained that Mathew and his associate took her to a place in Anna Nagar in the city and she couldn’t recollect what happened there because she was drunk.

Next morning, she found herself lying on a pavement and her mobile phone and digital camera were missing, she said in her complaint, police added.
