NEW DELHI, MARCH 3: Agitated over the cut in food and fertiliser subsidies, allies of NDA on Friday finalised plans to put pressure on the Government to roll back the hike in urea prices and essential commodities supplied through public distribution system (PDS).

NDA allies like TDP, Trinamool Congress, Shiv Sena and INLD informally met in the Parliament House on Friday and decided to submit a memorandum to Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.

TDP parliamentary party leader Yerran Naidu told reporters it was decided at the meeting to submit a joint memorandum to the Prime Minister on the issue on Monday.

TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had strongly criticised the hikes and said the budget was anti-poor. He had also planned to write to Prime Minister for reviewing the decision.
