
NEW DELHI, December 3: Star-studded Bright Club bowed out of the All India Davinder Singh memorial tournament for Tara Devi Mathur Trophy when Trans Yamuna Cricket Association (TYCA) beat them by eight runs in a first-round match at Harbaksh Stadium here today.
Batting first, TYCA made 186 in 45 overs. Sanjay Sharma (50: 2×4), Padamjeet Sherawat (42: 4×4) were the principal contributors. Akash Malhotra (4 for 31) and Nischal Gaur (2 for 31) shared the spoils.
In reply, Bright Club were restricted to 178 with one ball to spare. Jasbeer Singh (61: 5×4) and Parinder Sharma (43: 3×4) were the main scorers. Three run outs in crucial stages saw the team crumble after being 142 for four in 36 overs. Jai Prakash (4 for 30) and Ashwani Kapoor (2 for 35) were the main wicket-takers.

Bal Bharati Basketball: Ramjas No. 4 entered the final of fifth Bal Bharati invitational basketball tournament beating St Michael’s School 57-40. In the other semi-final, V S Agriculture beat APS 62-60.
In the girls’ section, J D Tytler beat Nutan Marathi 26-10 to enter the final. Mount Carmel defeated Modern School (Barakhamba Road) 34-18 to make the final.
