The Government Railway Police have arrested two persons and recovered 6.600 kg of `charas’ valued at Rs. 72,000 from their possession when they were waiting at the southern end of platform no. 4 for a Mumbai train on Saturday. A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been booked against them.

Short-circuit
A electric short-circuit in the Defence Medicare Ltd’s office located in Windsor Plaza in Alkapuri area destroyed a few computers installed there on Saturday evening. According to the sources, the extent of the loss could not be ascertained immediately.

Suicide
Virendrasingh Pratapsingh Rathore, a constable, posted at the Fatehgunj Police station committed suicide by consuming poisonous chemicals on Saturday night. The Fatehgunj police said the constable committed suicide at his residence in Juna Padra area but the provocation for the act could not be known immediately.

Vehicle lifted
Rajendra Someshwar, a resident of Samdi Pole, Bajwawada, has complained that her Luna moped (GJ-6-16606) parked outside the World Trade Centre in Sayajigunj area was lifted on Monday. The Sayajigunj police have registered a case and are investigating.

Ban orders
Commissioner of Police Kuldip Sharma has banned the playing of cricket and other games on important roads and streets in the commissionerate area till June 16 in view of the forthcoming religious festivals. The ban has been imposed under Section 37(1) of the Mumbai Police Act, 1951.
