
NEW DELHI, June 22: East district police claim to have worked out a murder case with the arrest of two persons, Sanjay and Harish, both residents of Khichripur in East Delhi.
The body of a 30-year-old man with stab injuries was found near a drain in the Gazipur area on February 5. The deceased was reportedly working as a security guard on a dairy farm. Robbery seemed to be the motive behind the murder as cash amounting to Rs 500 and a wristwatch were reportedly missing.
On the night of June 20, police arrested both Sanjay and Harish while they were waiting in a stolen Maruti Esteem bearing number DL5CA 1647 in Khichripur area. The car had reportedly been stolen from the Srinivaspuri police station area.
Their third associate, Rajesh, managed to escape. On sustained interrogation, the two confessed to having committed the Trilokpuri murder.
They also confessed to having been involved in four cases of vehicle theft and another case of attempt to murder.
