NEW DELHI, SEPT 1: An 11-year-old boy who had run away fearing his father’s anger has been reunited with his parents in Mumbai after seven months, thanks to a programme on a private satellite television channel.

Kartik Selvan had run away on January 20, fearing punishment on a misdemeanour. He later boarded a train in an effort to run off to Chennai, only later realising that the train was bound for Mathura.

Later at Mathura, he was adopted by a Muslim family who looked after him for a few months.

This family happened to see an episode of the programme Missing on a private television channel on August 2, where Kartik’s story was shown and his photograph flashed. The family collected enough money to make a call to Mumbai, and this is how the child was reunited with his family.
