VADODARA, Sept 17: Several trains were delayed, while others were re-scheduled, on Thursday as heavy rains continued to lash the State. The only train to be cancelled, however, was the 8404 Up Ahmedabad-Puri Express. It was scheduled to leave from Ahmedabad at 6 p.m. but could not as the pairing train had not reached.
Among the several trains re-scheduled was the 2951 Down Rajdhani Express; it was to leave Mumbai at 10.20 p.m., almost five-and-a-half hours late. The 2934 Up Karnavati Express was terminated at Borivli and reversed as 2933 to Ahmedabad. The 2964 Up Sayajinagari Express was terminated at Virar and was to run as 2963 Down.
The 2961 Down Mumbai-Indore Avantika Express was to leave Mumbai at 8.55 p.m. Among the trains delayed by the rains are the 9011 Down Gujarat Express, which was running five hours behind schedule. The 8034 Up Howrah-Ahmedabad Express was late by 2 hours, along with the 2925 Down Paschim Express. The 7017 Secundrabad was dealyed by 3 hours, as was the 9023 Firozpur-Janta Express.
The 2471 Swaraj Express was delayed by 4 hrs and 15 minutes, the 9215 Saurashtra Express was delayed by 3 hours, 45 minutes.
