JALANDHAR, Aug 10: Body of another missing boy was found near a railway track and the railway police got his body cremated as an unclaimed one.

The residents of Basti Guzan locality blocked traffic for about two hours and the entire market was closed today when they learnt about the railway police cremating the body of 15-year old Sandeep Chawla as an unclaimed body. The boy had been reported missing since Friday last and an FIR about this had also been lodged with the local police.

Following public outcry, a magisterial inquiry has been ordered into the incident and a case under Sections 302 and 364 of the IPC has been registered.

Irate residents allege that although the news and photographs of the missing boy had been published in the local newspapers and the FIR was lodged with the local police, still the Railway Police (RP) did not seek any clarification from the local police authorities and cremated the body as unclaimed.

Sandeep, a tenth class student had been missing under mysterious circumstances since Friday last.

Punjab minister of Health Minister Manoranjan Kalia visited the house of the bereaved family and expressed his condolences.
