Russian security forces in the break-away republic of Chechnya have killed Aslan Gazuyev, the top commander of the Riyadus-Salikhan Martyr’s Brigade, accused of carrying out a series of deadly suicide bomb attacks in a number of Russian cities, including Moscow. Russia and the US had placed the Brigade in the terror list.
Meanwhile, the former Chechen Defence Minister Magomed Khambiyev, who had surrendered earlier this week, called on the rebels to lay down their arms and begin a peaceful life.
