Shimla, the summer capital of the Raj, is all set to host British Prime Minister Tony Blair and his wife Cherie for a brief two-and-a-half-hour stopover on September 8.Blair will touch down at Delhi from China a day earlier. Official sources said the Himachal Pradesh Government has little role in the arrangements except for tackling the logistics and security. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will play the host and hold a luncheon meeting with Blair.Singh is likely to fly down to Shimla a few hours before British PM and will return after his departure in the afternoon.Reports say the Blair couple will stay at the Wildflower Hall, a favourite hill resort with Viceroys during the Raj. The five-star hotel built by the Oberoi group is reserved for the Prime Minister’s stay.
