The Congress, which supports the Madhu Koda Government in Jharkhand, has expressed “extreme concern” over the law and order situation and implementation of developmental programmes in the state and demanded “time-bound” action plan to address the issue.

Union Minister Ajay Maken, Congress in-charge of Jharkhand, said his party would give a memorandum to Koda demanding redressal of various issues. Noting that the party was concerned about the situation in the state, Maken said the memorandum would seek action on certain fronts in a time-bound manner.

Improvement in the law and order situation, performance vis-a-vis important Central programmes like the National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme and Rajiv Gandhi Gram Vikas Yojana are the areas where the Congress would demand immediate action, he said. The memorandum will be given by a delegation led by Maken and comprising party leaders.
