NASHIK, DEC 5: Three activists of the Students’ Islamic Movement of India were arrested in Malegaon for allegedly disturbing communal amity in the town by pasting posters on the eve of the sixth anniversary of the Babri mosque demolition. The police arrested Imtiaz Ahmed Mohammed Iqbal, Mudassar Ahmed and Munwar Ahmed, all volunteers of the organisation, for pasting posters aimed at inciting communal passion.

The posters had demanded that the Babri mosque be rebuilt at the same spot in Ayodhya. The police are on the lookout for three more volunteers of the organisation. The Muslim League, the Students’ Islamic Movement and several other organisations have given a call for a bandh in the town tomorrow to observe the sixth anniversary of the Babri demolition.
