MUMBAI, June 16: A third contract worker of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation BMC engaged in the collection of garbage died this evening after battling for his life at the B Y L Nair Hospital for more than a month.

Twenty-nine-year-old Rajaram Yadav met with an accident while on duty on May 8 after he fell off the truck he was travelling when it was hit by a Maruti car. He suffered serious head injuries and was admitted in the Nair hospital. Yadav had been working as a contract worker for the last seven years in the B-ward.

This is the third death of a contract worker in the civic conservancy department in the last one month. Earlier, Bhagwat Khune 55 had died on May 13 and Pundalik Dhekne on June 13 in similar incidents involving garbage trucks.
