A picture speaks a thousand words. The students of St John8217;s High School have put up their 5th annual photography exhibition at the Government Museum and Art Gallery in Sector 10. The exhibition is open till November 27.
The amateur photographers have captured various moods of life, emotions and colours through the pictures. Over 250 photographs have been displayed at the exhibition. The students, who form part of the school8217;s photography club, believe that the art of clicking pictures involves a free mind. 8220;I never decide on the theme that should be captured. The only thing I keep in mind is the background of the picture. I click whatever appeals to me,8221; said Ojas, a Class VIII student who has exhibited a collection of photos from his holiday in Spain.
The students have worked on different topics such as environment, babies and moods among others. Sanyam, who has clicked his sister8217;s pictures said, 8220;Photographing babies is not an easy task as one does not know when the baby will be in the right mood. The spontaneity of a baby is unmatchable. But the familiarity factor plays a great role here. That is how I was able to click my sister8217;s pictures.8221;
Though most of the students said that they aspired to become professional photographers, Francis has a different view. 8220;The boys should keep it as a hobby only. The moment one becomes a professional, creativity goes for a toss as there so many persons expressing their opinions about the photographs. One is bound to work in a narrow end then,8221; he said.
