On September 21, Arsenal travelled to Old Trafford to play Man United. The match ended 0-0 with two things of note: the sending-off of Sol Campbell for a foul on Van Nistelrooy and the subsequent ugly scenes, and the result itself. The first is significant because that8217;s when Wenger told his team that if they didn8217;t change their angry ways they would lose the title. They cleaned up their act immediately and focused on talent rather than temper.

The second point is equally significant: Arsenal put aside their attacking instincts to play for the draw which they knew would give them the moral edge. That was an early sign of their hunger to win the league. They never looked back.
