Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray has replied to detractors, including nephew Raj Thackeray, in Saamna, ruling out a “vertical or horizontal” split in the party. “Stop worrying about whether there will be a split, vertical or horizontal; worry about Maharashtra and yourselves. We are competent to defend our fort. I want to tell the media that whatever is in your minds will not happen; Shiv Sena is invincible and indestructible,” he wrote.

He also took a swipe at Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar. “The Sena has been forever young in the last 40 years, and to attract the youth, I did not have to show off as chief of cricket, kabaddi, wrestling and football associations”. — PTI
