Tension gripped Mhow town near here on Tuesday following the murder of a minority community youth over an eve-teasing incident in Bandabasti area of the town. An irate mob gheraoed the Mhow police station, protesting against the murder of Mohammad Zakir (19) two days ago, and damaged 15 shops near the railway crossing, sources said.
The mob also tried to set the shops afire but police used dispersed them. Later, Indore District Collector Dr Rajesh Rajora said the situation in the town was under control.
