Teenage girl arrested for blackmail

PUNE, April 26: A 19-year-old-girl Leena David Kennedy, a resident of Bahirat Chawl, Bopodi was arrested by Khadki police yesterday on charges of blackmailing a married woman.

The girl was said to have been in possession of some photographs of the woman for the past two months. According to the police, the girl threatened the woman that she would give the photographs to her husband. The girl had already taken a gold ring, bangles and a locket worth Rs. 12,600 from the woman. The Khadki police are investigating the case.

VEHICLE THEFT: Ashok Devidas Mishra (22), a resident of Nana peth, was on Friday arrested for stealing a tempo of Mahesh Raojibhai Thakkar along with the goods estimated to be worth about Rs 4.40 lakh loaded in it.The tempo was parked near Kamgar Maidan in Bhavani peth from where Mishra steal it on April 23 night, Samartha police said. They arrested Mishra and recovered the tempo along with the articles loaded in it .
