HYDERABAD, July 3: Nandyal Member of Parliament and ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader Bhooma Nagi Reddy and his wife, Shoba Nagi Reddy, who is Telugu Desam MLA from Allagadda constituency, escaped a bomb attack near Nunepalli village between Nandyal and Allagadda towns in Kurnool district on Wednesday night.
According to the preliminary information received here, Nagi Reddy and his wife were on their way to Allagadda in a four-wheeler when 15 miscreants hurled bombs on their vehicle. While Nagi Reddy escaped unhurt, Shoba suffered minor injuries. The miscreants escaped under cover of darkness.
Police, who rushed to the spot, rushed Shoba to Nandyal government hospital.Meanwhile, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock over the attempt on lives of Bhooma Nagi Reddy and his wife.
He spoke to Shoba over telephone and expressed his regret over the incident. Later, Chandrababu Naidu directed Director-General of Police H J Dora to identify and arrest the accused immediately and investigations are on.
