CBI is contemplating challenging the Allahabad HC order against the arrest of six people including former UP CM Mayawati in the Rs 175 crore Taj Heritage Corridor project.

CBI sources said the order had to be challenged as it would otherwise become a precedence in future cases and the agency would not be able to arrest anyone involved in a corruption case. The HC had stayed the arrest in the case till the conclusion of the probe on October 31.

A forensic report has concluded that the Kurnool bus accident, which claimed 20 lives, was caused by a drunk biker, B Shiva Shankar. The biker was allegedly driving under the influence when his bike skidded on a wet road and collided with the bus, causing it to burst into flames. The police have gathered evidence and the investigation is ongoing.
