NEW DELHI, April 6: Syed Zakir Ali was adjudged the best in the sub-junior boys section of the Delhi State Shooing Championship that concluded at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range here today.

Ali finished the championship with three gold and three silver while in the men’s category, Vikrant Malhotra won three gold and one silver.

In today’s events, Vikrant claimed a gold in the standard pistol, logging 269 out of 300 while the silver went to P.P. Mondal (252) and Tarun Jain (251) came behind him.

In the standard pistol for sub-junior boys, Amit Kumar captured the gold with 262 while Syed Zakir Ali came behind him to win the silver at 238 and Aman Suresh got the bronze at 237. In air rifle for men, Shimon Sharif shot 272 for a new record and the gold while silver was claimed by Deepak Nautiyal (550) and bronze went to H/Mohd Abbas (534).

In the junior group, Arushi Dhawan, a class VI student Springdales, claimed the silver in standard pistol.

In free rifle prone, Vikram Singh (563) shot the gold and Sharif won the silver at 550 and Naresh Kumar Sharma, the bronze at 545. In the junior men category, Deepak Nautiyal won gold (550) and silver was claimed by Harven Singh (510) while the bronze went to Sudhir Kumar (510).
