CHENNAI, June 23: Janata Party president Dr Subramanian Swamy tonight said the only alternative to the BJP-led coalition at the Centre was a ``stable, secular and patriotic front''.Talking to newsmen on his arrival at the Chennai airport here from Madurai, Swamy said continuance of the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government would lead to danger and the only way to counter it would be to go in for the alternative front.When asked about the contradictory statements being issued by various BJP leaders on Ram temple issue, Subramian Swamy charged that it was ``deliberate''. Whatever Prime Minister A B Vajpayee and Union home minister L K Advani spoke was meant only for public consumption, he said.Responding to the statement of former prime minister Chandrashekar, who wanted the BJP government to go and the Congress to form an alternative Government, Subramanian Swamy said only the allies of the BJP could bring down the government.The Congress too would have an important role to play in theformation of the alternative front, he added.
