Gujarat Gas gets breather
Gujarat Gas Company Limited, which has been in the dock ever since it was held responsible for liberating a foul smelling gas into the air, will have to wait for another week before District Collector Sangeeta Singh gives her verdict.

Singh, who reopened the case after taking over in the second week of February, was to give her verdict on Tuesday. However, the meeting decided to wait for the final report of Gujarat Pollution Control Board GPCB on the steps taken by the company. The board officials will make another visit to GGCL shortly and submit its final report to the collector on whether the company has abided by the notice. The next meeting will be held on March 31, when the report will be discussed and action, if any decided.

Convocation
The 30th annual convocation of the South Gujarat University will be held on March 27th at the Gandhi Smruti Bhavan in Nanpura at 3 pm. State governor and chancellor of the SGU Sunder Singh Bhandari will preside over the convocation.

Office-bearers
Office-bearers of the Kribhco Karamchari Sangh KKS were elected at a function here on March 22. While T C Patel was elected union president, C H Patel took over as the general secretary. Among other appointments made, V S Parmar, Girish Patel, Jagatsinh Kosamia, Sudhir Vaswani, Murti and other 11 people were elected to the executive board of the KKS.

Ahmedabad Aviation amp; Aeronautics Ltd AAA, in a statement here on Wednesday stated that the Surat-Bhavnagar service it offers has not been affected as a result of a trainee aircraft crash at the Magdalla airstrip on Monday. The release said that the charter service has no bearing on the mishap and that services to Bhavnagar and Ahmedabad will continue normally.
