Golden jubilee function of Sangh
The Surat Zilla Sahkari Sangh has organised a function on February 3 to mark its golden jubilee. The function, to be held at Shree Swaraj Ashram Bardoli at 9.30 am, will be inaugurated by Chairman of the Indian Commerce Fertiliser, Co-operative Limited, Surindra Kumar Jakhad. A book Sahkar Sattya8217; will also be released on the occasion by Jayarambhai Patel, Chairman of the Gujarat State Co-operative Bank Limited.
Membership n DR Biswajeet Pattanayak, Joint General Manager, ESSAR, has been awarded membership of American Biographical Institute8217;s Research Board of Advisors.
Dr Pattanayak, who taught at the Indian Institute of Management before joining ESSAR, was approached by ABI with an invitation to become a member of ABI8217;s Research Board of Advisor. Dr Pattanayak will receive a Certificate of Appointment and will be cited as an Advisor in ABI reference volumes.
Eight killed
Vadodara: As many as eight people were killed and eight injured seriously, when the State Transport bus GJ-1-Z-4555, in which they were travelling, collided head on with a jeep GJ-7-H-8254, near Bhamaiya Crossing in Godhra town of Panchmahal district, on Sunday morning. According to the police, all the dead and injured hailed from Kapadvanj.
Leprosy camp
State Health Minister Ashok Bhatt inaugurated a leprosy diagnosis camp at Sindhrot village near here on Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, he praised the activities of various social fora involved in lepers8217; treatment and their rehabilitation. Philanthropist Indu Patel announced a donation of Rs 10 to the Shram Mandir.
